Performance of gas engine driven compressiontype refrigerating machine

Based on the performance data of gas engine obtained from the experiment and performance curve provided by the manufacturer, researches operating characteristics of the gas engine driven refrigerating compressor unit. Analyses the influence of evaporating temperature, condensing temperature, rotating speed and speed ratio on the operating characteristics of the unit. The results show that compressor rotating speed and speed ratio have important effect on the performance of the unit. Reduction of speed indefinitely improves the PER, because much lower speed may lead to efficiency decline. The PER of the unit can be improved if engine speed and compressor speed are matched well according to the capacity of gas engine and refrigerating compressor and operating requirement.
